2023-07-01
Starting from July 1st of this year, the "mandatory national standard" for Electric Bike chargers and helmets (hereinafter referred to as the "new national standard") has been officially implemented. The new national standard has made unified requirements for the charging port of Electric Bicycle chargers. The new national standard for helmets incorporates E Bike passenger helmets into the scope of the standard based on the original motorcycle passenger helmets, filling the gap in helmet standards and making clear provisions on the structure of helmet products, stability of fixing devices, strength of wearing devices, collision energy absorption performance, penetration resistance performance, etc., to better protect the life safety of riders.
The new national standard unifies the form of output plug of Lead–acid battery and Lithium Battery charger to avoid mismatch between battery and charger plug. At the same time, it is required that the charger must have communication function. After the charger plug is inserted into the Electric Bicycle charging jack, the communication cable core first attempts to communicate and shake hands, and only charges the battery when the voltage meets the requirements, reducing or even eliminating safety hazards caused by voltage and other reasons, and avoiding or reducing the occurrence of fires, electric shocks, etc.
Industry insiders admit that the implementation of the new national standard constrains manufacturers from the source to produce products that meet the standards. However, to ensure the safety of electric bicycle passengers, it is even more necessary for drivers and passengers to enhance their own safety awareness and use safety products. In addition, relevant departments need to strengthen supervision and all parties work together to create a safe travel environment.
