The ISO/TC 149 Annual Meeting and the ISO/TC 149/SC1 46th Annual Meeting, as well as the WG13 and WG16 Working Group Meetings, will be held in Sangalhos, Portugal from September 10th to 13th, 2024. More than 40 representatives from 9 countries including China, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia attended the meeting. Six expert representatives from China Bicycle Association, National Bicycle Standardization Technical Committee, Shanghai Phoenix Bicycle Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yiwei Electric Vehicle Sales and Service Co., Ltd., Ningbo Julong Machinery Co., Ltd., and Tangshan Chenyang Sports Equipment Co., Ltd. attended the meeting.
At the annual meetings of ISO/TC149 and SC1, the secretaries of ISO/TC149 and SC1 respectively reported on their annual work situation; Voted to approve the new chairman of SC1; Voted in favor of retaining the liaison relationship with the IEC TC61 Household Electrical Equipment Standards Committee, agreed to the resignation of four Japanese experts from their positions as IEC TC61 liaison officers, and agreed that the next annual meeting will be held in Tokyo, Japan from October 14-17, 2025.
The ISO 4210 two wheeled bicycle(
Electric Bike)safety requirements standard working group of WG13 and the ISO 11243 bicycle luggage rack standard working group of WG16 have respectively discussed the relevant standards. 10 opinions proposed by China, including 4 editorial opinions, 6 technical opinions, 3 approved, 1 requiring further explanation, and 2 discussed by a discussion group with experts from Japan and the United States.
During the conference, Chinese experts were invited to visit companies such as Igus, Bikinnov, Abimota, HFA, Triangle, DM, and Sangalhos. They conducted on-site inspections on the design, production, and testing of plastic vehicles, bicycle(
E Bike ) design centers, bicycle (
Electric Bicycle )testing centers, Bike Frame , sprockets, crankshafts, reflectors, and other spare parts. They also witnessed the real scene of industrial automation production of bicycle parts in Europe and learned about the sustainable material applications, market prospects, and new business models of transportation on Assisted
Electric Bicycles. Assisted Electric Bicycles will become the future mode of transportation in Europe, especially for commuting.
